Terms of Use

Understand the limits of the records and the responsibilities of using them.

Effective · Maintained by Nicholas French

Using TCL

These terms apply to texascannabisledger.org, operated by Nicholas French as Texas Cannabis Ledger (“TCL”). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you disagree, please stop using it. Contact nick@stackswap.ai with questions. These terms do not replace any separate checkout terms of an independent provider.

Information, not professional advice

TCL provides informational, educational and research resources. Nothing here is individualized legal, medical, financial or other professional advice. Use of the site, a directory listing, a correction request or an advertising inquiry creates no attorney-client, doctor-patient or other professional advisory relationship with TCL or a listed provider.

Independently check current law, deadlines and official records and consult an appropriately qualified professional about your situation. Do not send TCL confidential case details, patient information or requests for emergency assistance.

What public records can and cannot establish

We strive to represent sources accurately, but do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, timeliness or suitability for a particular purpose. Public records may be historical, incomplete, erroneous, differently defined or later revised. TCL does not independently validate every government record. Read the applicable source period, coverage and methodology before relying on a figure.

Arrests are not convictions or proof of guilt. Counts of arrest records need not represent unique people, incidents or cases. A business registration does not establish present operating status or authorization to dispense medical cannabis. Related aggregate datasets do not trace the same people through the justice system.

Directories and independent providers

Directories are informational resources, not professional referrals, matching services, certifications or endorsements. TCL does not certify licensure, good standing, specialization, quality or suitability. Sources identify advertised practice and geographic service claims; neither a listing nor an office location guarantees availability or acceptance of a matter.

Evaluate and contact professionals independently, including checking current status, experience, scope and fees. Attorneys, firms, medical providers and other linked businesses are independent third parties. TCL does not negotiate their services or collect or forward legal-client case details. You can request a listing correction, claim, update or removal; changes require review.

Advertising and editorial independence

Activated paid placements must be labeled Sponsored or Paid advertisement. An available-placement placeholder is not an endorsement or an active paid listing. Payment does not establish professional superiority, alter public records or buy inclusion in free alphabetical listings. See our editorial and commercial independence standards.

Downloads, attribution and intellectual property

Our public download features are intended for research, analysis and reuse. These terms do not prohibit downloading or reusing the public records made available through those features. TCL does not claim ownership of government records or third-party material. Their applicable rights and source conditions remain separate; public availability does not itself mean every source is in the public domain.

TCL’s original writing, analysis, branding, code and presentation may have separate copyright or other protections. Unless a specific license says otherwise, those original materials are not covered by a blanket public-domain dedication. Use applicable licenses and legal exceptions; ask for permission for other uses. When citing TCL’s calculations or downloads, identify TCL, the underlying source and snapshot or reporting period, and describe your own modifications. Do not imply TCL or an agency endorses your work.

Responsible use

You may browse, link, cite and use the available downloads responsibly. Do not impersonate TCL or another person, submit deceptive or abusive requests, circumvent access controls, introduce malicious code, harvest confidential submissions or intentionally disrupt service. Do not use TCL to misrepresent a person’s guilt, a professional’s qualifications or a source’s conclusions. Ordinary research and reasonable automated access to published downloads are not prohibited; respect operational limits and applicable third-party source terms.

External services and transactions

Linked sources and providers control their own content, privacy practices and services. Links are provided for context and convenience and are not an assurance of accuracy or an endorsement. Fourthwall processes merchandise ordering and checkout under the store’s displayed terms and policies; contribution services have their own terms. TCL’s site does not receive full payment-card details through its shop code. Confirm prices, fulfillment and return conditions with the relevant checkout provider.

Availability and responsibility

The site and downloads are provided as available, without additional warranties to the extent permitted by applicable law. Features and records can be corrected, interrupted or withdrawn. To the extent permitted by law, TCL and its operator disclaim implied warranties and responsibility for indirect, incidental or consequential losses from use of the site or independent services.

These provisions do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, excuse knowing misrepresentation or eliminate applicable consumer rights. No disclaimer makes TCL immune from responsibility.

Governing law and changes

Texas law governs these terms to the extent consistent with applicable mandatory law. These terms do not impose arbitration, designate an exclusive court or waive rights that cannot legally be waived. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to the extent permitted by law.

Changes will carry an updated effective date and summary here. Material changes apply prospectively, subject to applicable law; using the site after they take effect signifies acceptance to the extent enforceable. The Privacy Policy explains the site’s information practices.
